Lightning 4, Canucks 2: Steven Stamkos scored two goals and set up another as visiting Tampa Bay halted Vancouver's season-opening winning streak.

Ryan Callahan recorded a tally and an assist while Alex Killorn also scored as the Lightning began their five-game road trip in strong fashion. Ondrej Palat registered a pair of assists and Ben Bishop turned aside 30 shots for Tampa Bay, which lost defenseman Victor Hedman to an upper-body injury in the second period.

Blue-liner Alex Edler notched a goal and an assist while Chris Higgins added a tally for the Canucks, who had won their first three contests of 2014-15. Eddie Lack finished with 20 saves in his season debut.

Tampa Bay grabbed the lead just 53 seconds into the contest as Stamkos took a lead pass from Palat and completed the breakaway by beating Lack with a backhander. Higgins forged a tie at 7:15 of the first period by burying his own rebound, but Stamkos converted Callahan's one-handed pass from behind the net while in the slot 71 seconds later to restore the lead.

The Canucks pulled even again during a power play 2:42 into the second, when Daniel Sedin raced down the right wing before making a backhand pass to Edler, who beat Bishop from the top of the slot. Callahan answered later in the session with a man-advantage goal of his own and Killorn backhanded a rebound past Lack six minutes into the third to give the Lightning a two-goal advantage.
