Flyers 6, Stars 5 (OT): Captain Claude Giroux beat Kari Lehtonen between the pads with a one-timer from the left faceoff circle during a power play 2:49 into overtime as visiting Philadelphia rallied for its first win of the season.

Jakub Voracek recorded a goal and two assists while Giroux and defenseman Andrew MacDonald both notched one of each for the Flyers, who outshot the Stars 37-23 in the opener of their three-game road trip. Sean Couturier, Brayden Schenn and Michael Raffl also tallied while Ray Emery made four saves in relief of Steve Mason, who allowed four goals on 18 shots and notched an assist in two periods.

Defenseman Trevor Daley scored a pair of power-play goals but committed the hooking penalty in overtime that led to Giroux's game-winner. Tyler Seguin registered his first career four-assist performance, Jason Spezza collected a goal and three assists and captain Jamie Benn and Erik Cole also scored while Lehtonen stopped 31 shots in falling to 0-10-3 lifetime against Philadelphia.

Daley opened the scoring at 11:32 of the first period as he beat Mason from the right faceoff circle, but Couturier answered 1:44 later by poking in a loose puck in front of the net. Schenn knocked in the rebound of brother Luke Schenn's shot from above the slot less than two minutes afterward to give Philadelphia the lead before Dallas erupted for three tallies in the second session.

Cole redirected Shawn Horcoff's pass from the left circle past Mason at 2:46 and Daley put the Stars ahead by converting Seguin's cross-slot saucer pass with 87 seconds remaining. Seguin set up Benn alone on the doorstep 56 seconds later for a 4-2 advantage, but MacDonald beat Lehtonen with a blast from the top of the left circle during a power play at 8:32 of the third and Voracek buried a rebound in front with 5:46 left to tie it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Spezza gave Dallas a 5-4 lead just 40 seconds after Voracek's goal by poking the puck into the net as Emery was attempting to cover it in the crease with his glove. Raffl forged another deadlock 73 seconds later, when his pass attempt caromed off Daley's skate and past Lehtonen. ... Voracek has begun the season with a five-game point streak (two goals, five assists). ... Daley's two-goal effort was the second of his career. ... Seguin and Benn have combined for seven goals and seven assists over Dallas' last three games.
