Stars 3, Penguins 2: Tyler Seguin scored the go-ahead goal with 2.9 seconds remaining in the third period as visiting Dallas overcame an early deficit to stun Pittsburgh.

After captain Jamie Benn forged a 2-2 tie with 2:57 left in the third, the Stars completed the comeback in the period's waning moments. Jason Spezza's hard slap-pass from the right faceoff circle found Seguin, who one-timed a shot from deep in the left circle past a sliding Marc-Andre Fleury (25 saves) to quiet the crowd at Consol Energy Center.

Antoine Roussel also tallied and Kari Lehtonen turned aside 27 shots for the Stars, who snapped a six-game winless streak in Pittsburgh. Spezza and former Penguins defenseman Alex Goligoski each notched a pair of assists in the victory.

Chris Kunitz recorded a power-play goal and assisted on captain Sidney Crosby's fourth tally in three contests for Pittsburgh, which saw Pascal Dupuis stretchered off the ice during the second period after being hit in the base of the neck with a shot by teammate Kris Letang. The setback prevented Mike Johnston from joining Herb Brooks (1999-2000) as the only coaches in Penguins history to win their first three games.

After hitting the crossbar on a partial breakaway just 1:29 into the contest, Crosby opened the scoring 59 seconds later on the power play as his attempted backdoor feed to Kunitz inadvertently deflected off the stick of Dallas defenseman Jordie Benn and into the net. Kunitz doubled the advantage at 7:46, shoveling home the rebound of Letang's shot during a man advantage, before the Stars began their comeback at 6:08 of the second with Roussel's tally from the right circle.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dupuis was cross-checked in the back by Goligoski and dropped to the ice before Letang's shot hit him with 6:58 remaining in the second period. Dupuis was able to hold up his thumb to the fans as he approached the gate. ... Dallas nearly forged a 2-2 tie moments before Jamie Benn's goal, but Spezza's apparent tally was denied by a goaltender interference call on Seguin. ... Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin notched his 637th career point with an assist on Kunitz's goal, moving him past Rick Kehoe and into fourth place on the team's all-time scoring list.
