Ducks 3, Stars 2: Captain Ryan Getzlaf recorded a goal and an assist for the second time in as many games as host Anaheim took a 2-0 lead in its Western Conference first-round series.

Andrew Cogliano scored a short-handed goal and Corey Perry also tallied for the Pacific Division-champion Ducks, who were outshot 15-2 in the third period. Frederik Andersen made 34 saves while Getzlaf registered his 20th career multi-point playoff performance while wearing a shield on his helmet after being hit in the face by a slap shot late in Game 1.

Alex Chiasson and Ryan Garbutt scored for the Stars, who host Game 3 on Monday. Kari Lehtonen turned aside 16 shots.

Dallas cashed in on a power play at 7:40 of the first period to take the lead, as Chiasson beat Andersen from the right faceoff circle after receiving a feed from behind the net by captain Jamie Benn. Getzlaf drew Anaheim even with 2:46 left in the session, driving to the net after intercepting a pass along the right-wing boards and lifting the puck over Lehtonen's left shoulder.

Perry snapped the tie with 3:45 remaining in the second with a blast from the top of the right circle and Cogliano converted a cross-slot return pass from Getzlaf at 5:09 of the third to double the advantage. Garbutt flicked the puck past Andersen from the doorstep less than five minutes later to halve the deficit, but the Stars were unable to get the equalizer.
