Wild 1, Avalanche 0 (OT): Mikael Granlund scored 5:08 into overtime as host Minnesota got back into its Western Conference first-round series.

Rookie Darcy Kuemper made 22 saves in his first career postseason start for the Wild, who look to even the series at two wins apiece when they host Game 4 on Thursday. Jason Pominville and Zach Parise each recorded an assist on the winning goal.

Semyon Varlamov turned aside 45 shots for the Avalanche, who lost defenseman Tyson Barrie to a left knee injury two minutes into the second period. Barrie is expected to be sidelined four to six weeks after being on the receiving end of a knee-to-knee collision with Matt Cooke, who has a history of delivering illegal hits in his career.

Playing in his third career playoff game, Granlund broke loose from a defender along the right-wing boards and skated across the faceoff circle and into the low slot. Hacked from behind, the 22-year-old Finn slid the puck inside the left post after falling to the ice to cap a superb individual effort.

Colorado had the only power-play opportunity in the first period, but Minnesota applied all the pressure in the session - outshooting the Avalanche 22-8. Things calmed down in the second as the Wild had a 9-7 edge before again dominating the shot clock in the third (13-5).

GAME NOTEBOOK: Varlamov's 22 saves in the first period are the most in a playoff session in franchise history. ... Minnesota caught a break late in the third period as D Jonas Brodin appeared to lift the puck over the glass in his own zone without a delay-of-game penalty being called against him. ... The Wild set a franchise playoff record after 60 minutes by recording 44 shots on goal. ... Granlund and Parise each registered a game-high seven shots on goal while C Cody McCormick, who began his career with the Avalanche, was the only member of the Wild without at least one.
