Flames 4, Kings 3 (SO): Rookie Sean Monahan scored in regulation and netted the deciding tally in the shootout to lift host Calgary to its fourth consecutive victory.

TJ Galiardi scored one goal and set up another while Matt Stajan also tallied for the Flames, who prevailed despite blowing a 3-0 lead. Karri Ramo made 41 saves and stopped three of the four shots he faced in the bonus format as Calgary played its 49th one-goal game this season, tying an NHL record set by Florida in 2010-11.

Dwight King returned from a four-game injury absence to net the tying goal with 7:42 to play in the third while Jarret Stoll and Anze Kopitar scored 24 seconds apart late in the second to rally Los Angeles, which fell to 0-2-1 on its four-game road trip. Jonathan Quick made 15 saves but was beaten by Jiri Hudler and Monahan in the shootout.

Leading 1-0 after one period courtesy of Galiardi's backhander in front, Calgary appeared poised to make it a rout in the second as Galiardi set up Monahan in the slot at the four-minute mark. The Flames extended the lead to 3-0 when Stajan corralled a bouncing puck and buried a spinning forehand shot from the right faceoff circle with 4:32 left in the session.

It took only 41 seconds for the Kings to respond as Stoll deflected defenseman Slava Voynov's high shot from the right point before Kopitar circled behind the net and onto the doorstep to beat Ramo with a backhander. Los Angeles took advantage of a giveaway by Calgary rookie Bryce Van Brabant to draw even on King's tip-in of blue-liner Jake Muzzin's shot from the left point.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Neither team committed a penalty in the contest - a first in franchise history for Calgary and the first time for Los Angeles since February 1977. ... King has collected points in four of his last five games while Los Angeles RW Marian Gaborik assisted on Kopitar's goal to give him eight points in his last eight games. ... Galiardi hit the scoresheet for the first time in 10 games with only his third multi-point effort of the season. ... Kings D Drew Doughty, who had played in 199 consecutive games before sitting out Saturday at Vancouver, missed his second straight contest with a shoulder injury.
