Predators 3, Sharks 0: Patric Hornqvist extended his goal-scoring streak to four games with a pair of tallies as visiting Nashville completed a sweep of the three-game season series.

Defenseman Roman Josi also scored and Carter Hutton made 35 saves for his first career shutout as the Predators remained six points behind Dallas for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference with four games remaining. Hornqvist added an assist as his point streak reached seven contests.

Antti Niemi turned aside 21 shots for the Sharks, who trail Pacific Division-leading Anaheim by one point with three games left. The Ducks have two games in hand on San Jose, which scored a total of four goals in the season series with the Predators.

After a scoreless first period, Hornqvist got Nashville on the board 3:48 into the second by knocking in the rebound of Matt Cullen's shot while on the doorstep. The Swede doubled the lead at 8:59, beating Niemi from the right hash marks to complete his second two-goal performance in three games.

Josi made it 3-0 less than 4 1/2 minutes later as he skated around Sharks defenseman Jason Demers on the left side and to the net before his backhand attempt found its way past Niemi. It was more than enough offensive support for Hutton, who stopped 19 shots in the third period to preserve the shutout.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hornqvist's three-point effort was his second in two nights and third during his streak. ... San Jose D Dan Boyle had his six-game point streak halted while RW Brent Burns' five-game run came to an end. ... After knocking off Anaheim and San Jose on back-to-back nights, Nashville concludes its three-game road trip Tuesday in Dallas.
