Blackhawks 3, Wild 2 (SO): Marian Hossa scored in the second round of the shootout and Corey Crawford stopped all three attempts he faced as host Chicago ended a three-game losing streak.

After Crawford (25 saves) denied Zach Parise with the handle of his stick in the first round, Hossa unleashed a blast that trickled past Ilya Bryzgalov and over the goal line to give the Blackhawks the edge. Crawford made the advantage stand up with a glove save on Minnesota captain Mikko Koivu and a pad stop on Jason Pominville that ended the contest.

Bryan Bickell scored in his return from a six-game absence due to an upper-body injury. Ben Smith also tallied for Chicago, which overcame the absence of captain Jonathan Toews (upper-body injury) to remain three points behind second-place Colorado in the Central Division.

Charlie Coyle and Erik Haula scored for the Wild, who moved five points ahead of Dallas and Phoenix for the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Bryzgalov (24 saves) dropped to 0-5-2 in his last seven games in Chicago.

With the score tied at 1-1, Jeremy Morin skated out from behind the end line and wired the puck to the front of the net. Bickell knocked it out of the air and beat Bryzgalov under the crossbar on his second attempt at 2:45 of the third period. Haula forged a tie with 1:54 left in the session as his soft wrist shot from the right faceoff circle caromed off Crawford's glove and into the net.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Toews was injured on Sunday, when he absorbed a hit from Pittsburgh D Brooks Orpik. ... Koivu saw his six-game point streak come to an end. He collected two goals and seven assists during that stretch. ... Parise was held off the scoresheet to remain one point shy of 500 in his career.
