Red Wings 3, Bruins 2: Red-hot Gustav Nyquist scored the tiebreaking goal with 7:12 to play in the third period as Detroit rallied to snap Boston's franchise-record nine-game road winning streak.

Nyquist blew past Bruins captain Zdeno Chara before beating Tuukka Rask to the glove side for his 12th goal in 10 games and Jimmy Howard turned aside 33 shots as the Red Wings won their third straight and handed the Bruins their first regulation defeat since March 1. Tomas Tatar scored and also set up Tomas Jurco's tying goal as Detroit opened a three-point lead over Columbus for the top wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Defenseman Johnny Boychuk and Carl Soderberg tallied for Boston, which fell to 15-1-1 in its last 17 games. Rask made 17 saves as the Bruins lost for the seventh time in their last eight meetings with the Red Wings.

A penalty on Darren Helm with three seconds left in the second period set the stage for Boston to go ahead as Soderberg buried a crossing feed from Patrice Bergeron 70 seconds into the third. Detroit pulled even 10 minutes later, when the puck got caught in the equipment of Boston defenseman Andrej Meszaros before dropping to the ice, where Tatar kicked a pass to Jurco for an easy conversion into an open net - setting the stage for Nyquist's game-winner.

An apparent goal by Bruins blue-liner Torey Krug was disallowed due to goaltender interference, but Boston struck 69 seconds later on Boychuk's bullet into the left corner of the net with 3:10 left in the opening period. The Red Wings tied it just as a power play expired 4:45 into the second period on Tatar's perfectly placed shot from the top of the right faceoff circle.
