Vladimir Tarasenko scored the game-winner with 3.3 seconds remaining in the third period as the host Ottawa Senators edged the San Jose Sharks 5-4 on Saturday.
Tarasenko put home the rebound off Artem Zub's shot for his 10th goal of the season. Claude Giroux, Thomas Chabot, Brady Tkachuk and Drake Batherson also scored for Ottawa, which snapped a five-game losing streak. Tim Stutzle collected four assists and Zub had three. Joonas Korpisalo made 14 saves for the Sens.
Anthony Duclair, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Kevin Labanc and Filip Zadina responded for the Sharks. MacKenzie Blackwood stopped 36 shots in the loss.
Zadina tied it 4-4 with 3:04 remaining in the third, one-timing a pass from Tomas Hertl for his fifth of the season.
The Senators outshot the Sharks 22-4 in the middle period and led 4-3 after two periods.
San Jose tied it 2-2 at 3:53 of the second period as Vlasic finished off a 3-on-1 rush for his first of the season.
Labanc gave San Jose a 3-2 lead, putting a cross-ice feed from Mario Ferraro into a wide-open net for his second of the season at 6:20 of the middle frame.
Ottawa responded 51 seconds later as Tkachuk one-timed a Batherson pass past Blackwood for his team-leading 18th goal, tying it 3-3.
Batherson made it 4-3, netting the rebound off Zub's point shot at 12:59 of the second.
Ottawa led 2-1 following the opening period.
Giroux opened the scoring, putting home the rebound off Zub's point shot at 4:12 of the first period for his 13th goal. Giroux now has four goals and six points in his last six games.
Chabot doubled Ottawa's lead at 9:58 of the opening period, one-timing a Tarasenko feed past Blackwood for his first of the season. It was Chabot's first goal in 294 days.
Duclair got the Sharks on the board, snapping an Alexander Barabanov pass glove-side past Korpisalo for his eighth at 12:35 of the opening frame.
Ottawa center Rourke Chartier returned to the Senators lineup on Saturday after missing 12 games with an upper-body injury.
Before Saturday's game, the Senators placed goaltender Anton Forsberg (groin) on long-term injured reserve and recalled netminder Mads Sogaard from the AHL's Belleville Senators.
