Reilly Smith scored twice in a 46-second span early in the third period and Robin Lehner made 25 saves as the Vegas Golden Knights rallied for a 4-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday night in Las Vegas.
Alex Pietrangelo had a goal and an assist and Evgenii Dadonov also scored for Vegas, which won for the sixth time in its past eight games. William Carrier, Shea Theodore and Jonathan Marchessault added two assists apiece.
Yanni Gourde and Jordan Eberle scored goals for Seattle, which fell to 1-6-1 on the road. Chris Driedger finished with 19 saves in his first start for the Kraken.
Seattle took a 1-0 lead at the 4:49 mark of the first period, snapping a seven-game, 0-for-23 power-play drought in the process. Chandler Stephenson picked up an unsportsmanlike-conduct minor for grabbing Gourde's visor, and Eberle scored his seventh goal in seven games when he beat Pietrangelo to a rebound of a Marcus Johansson shot by the left side of the crease, backhanding it past Lehner.
Vegas tied it with just 25.8 seconds left in the period on Pietrangelo's third goal of the season. The wrist shot from the high slot knuckled between the glove and mask and over the left shoulder of Driedger.
Seattle controlled most of the action in the second period but didn't score until just 30.7 seconds remained. Gourde, cutting to the net on the right wing, shoveled Brandon Tanev's pass from the right corner past Lehner's glove side for his third goal of the season.
However, Vegas answered just 15 seconds later to tie it, 2-2. Dadonov backhanded in a loose puck inside the left post for his third goal of the season.
The Golden Knights then took their first lead of the game 30 seconds into the third period on Smith's one-timer from the left point over Driedger's glove. Smith then made it 4-2 when he tapped in a rebound over Driedger's pad on a power play, the third goal by Vegas over the span of 1:32 and his fourth of the season.
