Coyotes 3, Flames 2: Captain Shane Doan recorded his 350th career goal to snap a tie 8:49 into the third period as host Phoenix pulled even in points with idle Dallas for eighth place in the Western Conference.

Defenseman Chris Summers recorded his first NHL goal and Rob Klinkhammer also tallied in his 100th career game for the Coyotes, who defeated Calgary for the ninth time in the last 10 home meetings. Defenseman Keith Yandle notched two assists and Mike Smith turned aside 29 shots for Phoenix, which has played two more games than Dallas.

Curtis Glencross and Mikael Backlund each scored a power-play goal and Michael Cammalleri notched a pair of assists for the Flames, who saw their modest two-game winning streak come to an end.

After failing to record a shot on its first four power-play opportunities, Phoenix finally broke through nearly a minute into rookie defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon's holding penalty. Stationed in front, Doan deflected Yandle's blast from the point past Joni Ortio (23 saves) for his 19th goal.

Summers recorded his milestone goal by deflecting Lauri Korpikoski's shot 4:35 into the first period and Klinkhammer stripped Ortio of the puck before tapping it home nearly five minutes later. Cammalleri set up a pair of goals to forge a tie, with Glencross and Backlund tipping in shots nearly eight minutes apart in the second period.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Calgary did not help itself as it committed six straight penalties in the third period. ... Cammalleri has collected six goals and three assists while recording points in seven of his last eight games. ... Klinkhammer's goal was his first since scoring against the Flames on Jan. 7.
