Brad Richards blasted home the game-winning goal with 4:55 to play in the game and the visiting New York Rangers extended their winning streak to seven games with a 4-2 win over the rival New York Islanders on Tuesday night.

Sean Avery and defenseman Steve Eminger also scored goals and Henrik Lundqvist turned aside 31 shots as the Rangers matched their longest winning streak since October 2009.

Ryan Callahan added an empty-net tally with one second left to send the Islanders to their fourth straight defeat and 10th loss in the last 11 games.

On the winning goal, Brandon Dubinsky intercepted a lazy clearing pass from Josh Bailey just inside the blue line and slid a pass to Richards, who drilled a slap shot past Evgeni Nabokov.

Ryan Callahan added an empty-net tally to send the Islanders to their fourth straight defeat and 10th loss in their last 11 games.

Lundqvist made 27 saves in the final two periods to improve to 5-0-0 in his last five.

Nabokov turned aside 26 shots in absorbing his sixth consecutive loss (0-5-1) since beating the Rangers on Oct. 15.
