Canucks 2, Ducks 1 (SO): Nick Bonino scored in the first round of the shootout against his former team while Ryan Kesler hit the post on his bid in the third as visiting Vancouver snapped its six-game winless streak versus Anaheim.

Bonino skated in and tucked the puck underneath the extended right pad of Frederik Andersen to open the scoring in the shootout. Jakob Silfverberg failed to convert on Anaheim's second chance, setting the stage for Kesler, who hit the left post against the team with which he spent the first 10 seasons of his career before being traded on June 27.

Alex Burrows scored in regulation and Bonino notched an assist for the Canucks, who finished their four-game road trip with a 3-1-0 mark and posted their first victory against the Ducks since Jan. 25, 2013. Eddie Lack finished with 28 saves for his first career win versus Anaheim (1-4-1).

Defenseman Sami Vatanen scored a power-play goal and Kesler notched an assist while winning 14-of-21 faceoffs for the Ducks, who slipped to 0-0-3 on their four-game homestand. Andersen turned aside 34 shots in the loss.

With Vancouver defenseman Dan Hamhuis serving a hooking penalty, Anaheim drew first blood 2:37 into the second period as Kesler won an offensive-zone faceoff against Bonino before Vatanen's wrist shot from the slot beat Lack to the glove side. The Canucks answered over nine minutes later as Burrows extended his stick to deflect Hamhuis' shot from the point past Andersen.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Andersen kept his pads together to deny Vancouver RW Jannik Hansen on a partial breakaway late in the second period to keep the game tied at 1-1. ... Anaheim placed the NHL's goal-scoring co-leader Corey Perry on injured reserve prior to the contest due to flu-like symptoms. ... The Ducks also were missing Ds Cam Fowler (lower body) and Francois Beauchemin (flu), while Canucks RWs Radim Vrbata (leg) and Derek Dorsett (undisclosed) as well as D Luca Sbisa (undisclosed) - who was acquired in the Kesler deal - also sat out.
