Flyers 3, Blackhawks 2 (OT): Captain Claude Giroux scored at 4:55 of overtime as host Philadelphia won its third straight game.

Scott Hartnell scored twice and former Blackhawk Ray Emery made 23 saves for the Flyers, who maintained their hold on second place in the Metropolitan Division by improving to 10-2-1 in their last 13 games. Giroux carried the puck into the zone and beat Antti Raanta high to the stick side with a wrist shot from the top of the left faceoff circle to end the contest.

Andrew Shaw and defenseman Duncan Keith scored for the Blackhawks, who moved into a tie with Colorado for second place in the Central Division while closing within eight points of first-place St. Louis. Raanta made 14 of his 34 saves in the third period for Chicago, which fell to 4-5-1 in its last 10 contests.

The Blackhawks scored two goals 1:22 apart when Shaw chipped a rebound over Emery's left shoulder and Keith blasted a shot past the netminder from 40 feet at 3:51. Hartnell cut the deficit in half 1:57 later when his centering pass from behind the goal line intended for Giroux banked off Marcus Kruger and trickled past Raanta.

Hartnell tied it with 3:33 left in the first period after taking a feed from Giroux in the slot and beating Raanta high to the glove side. The Flyers had a solid chance to win it in regulation with 1:26 left, but Steve Downie's shot off a rebound went through the crease and Brayden Schenn couldn't knock the puck into the net out of mid-air.
