Blue Jackets 2, Wild 1 (SO): Ryan Johansen benefited from video review to score in the fourth round of the shootout as visiting Columbus improved to 6-1-1 in its last eight games.

Johansen skated in and made a series of moves, avoided an attempted poke check by Darcy Kuemper and backhanded the puck into the net. While Johansen began to celebrate, the officials originally dismissed the apparent tally by ruling that Kuemper touched the puck - thereby ending the sequence. The play went to review and the officials changed their stance, noting that Kuemper did not make contact and allowed the goal to stand.

Defenseman Dalton Prout scored late in the second period and Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 32 shots for the Blue Jackets, who moved even in points with the idle New York Rangers for second place in the Metropolitan Division.

Jason Pominville scored his team-leading 25th goal and defenseman Ryan Suter notched his club-best 30th assist for the Wild, who have dropped four of their last five (1-1-3).

After a brilliant goaltending display by both teams, Columbus finally broke through with 22 seconds remaining in the middle period. Prout's one-timer from the point deflected off the knee of defenseman Jonas Brodin and past a screened Kuemper, but Pominville answered 3:12 into the third as he banged home Zach Parise's feed at the right post.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Columbus D Fedor Tyutin returned to the lineup after a nine-game absence due to the ankle injury that he suffered in the Olympics. ... Pominville registered the 13th 25-goal season in Wild franchise history - and the first since Andrew Brunette and Guillaume Latendresse accomplished the feat in 2009-10. ... Suter became the second Wild defenseman to record 30 assists, joining current New Jersey D Marek Zidlicky.
