Flames 2, Oilers 1 (OT): Rookie Sean Monahan scored his second goal of the night at 1:50 of overtime as host Calgary evened this season's Battle of Alberta series at two wins apiece.

After opening the scoring in the first period, Monahan ended it in the extra session with his team-leading 18th goal of the campaign. Paul Byron stole the puck from Oilers defenseman Martin Marincin in the right corner and dished it to the 19-year-old Monahan, who fired it past Ilya Bryzgalov from in close to complete his first career two-goal performance.

Joe Colborne, captain Mark Giordano and fellow defenseman Ladislav Smid also notched an assist for the Flames, who also posted a 2-1 overtime victory at Edmonton on Dec. 7. Reto Berra turned aside 21 shots.

David Perron scored the lone goal for the Oilers, who have been held to fewer than four tallies in each of their last seven contests (3-2-2). Bryzgalov finished with 28 saves.

Calgary got on the board midway through the first period as Monahan corralled a bouncing puck in the low slot and fired it past Bryzgalov. The goal held up until 9:43 of the third, when Perron walked into the faceoff circle from along the left-wing boards and beat Berra to the short side for his team-leading - and career-best - 23rd tally.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Calgary D Chris Butler, who was expected to miss the contest after leaving Thursday's loss to Los Angeles with an upper-body injury, was in the lineup and logged 20:11 of ice time. ... The Oilers have lost four of their last six games, scoring a total of two goals in the defeats. ... Edmonton RW Nail Yakupov was scratched due to a foot injury suffered in Thursday's loss to Minnesota.
