Wild 2, Canucks 1 (SO): Justin Fontaine scored the lone shootout goal in the seventh round as visiting Minnesota extended its winning streak to four games.

Zach Parise converted a power-play opportunity in regulation for the Wild, who have defeated the Canucks in the bonus format in both meetings this season. Darcy Kuemper made 30 saves before keeping Vancouver off the board in the shootout.

Ryan Kesler returned from a one-game absence due to a hand injury to score a short-handed goal for the Canucks, who have lost eight of their last nine contests. Eddie Lack turned aside 22 shots as Vancouver was held to fewer than two tallies for the fifth time in six games.

Lack and Kuemper were outstanding over the first six rounds of the shootout, each making five saves while Minnesota's Charlie Coyle shot wide and Vancouver's Chris Higgins hit the post. Fontaine slid the puck between a diving Lack's pads on the Wild's seventh attempt and Kuemper denied David Booth's backhand shot to end the contest.

Vancouver grabbed the lead 5:19 into the contest as Kesler raced down the left wing on a partial breakaway before beating Kuemper with a wrist shot from the top of the faceoff circle. The Wild answered with 5:48 remaining in the first period, when Parise fired a wrister from the top of the slot past a screened Lack.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Parise reached the 20-goal plateau for the sixth time in his eight-season career. ... The Canucks' top line continues to struggle offensively. RW Alex Burrows has gone 30 games without a goal, LW Daniel Sedin's drought reached 21 contests and captain Henrik Sedin has failed to tally in his last 19 games. ... Kuemper has allowed a total of four goals during his four-game winning streak.
