With fans chanting at the LSU athletic administration not to fire coach Les Miles, Leonard Fournette rushed for 159 yards to break the LSU single-season rushing record and Derrius Guice raced 50 yards for the go-ahead touchdown to power the Tigers to a 19-7 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La.

Although LSU (8-3, 5-3 SEC) recorded its 16th consecutive eight-win season, Miles may not find out his coaching fate for several days. Miles was carried off the field on his players' shoulders.

Fournette has 1,741 yards, breaking Charles Alexander's 1977 season record of 1,686 yards. His 4-yard touchdown with 2:50 left iced the victory for LSU, which after a 7-0 start had lost three consecutive SEC games by an average of 17.5 points, putting Miles on the hot seat.

LSU wasted several first-half scoring opportunities, connecting on only two field goals - of 32 and 38 yards by Trent Domingue - on three red-zone opportunities. Domingue badly hooked a 25-yard field goal attempt off the left upright and late in the half was short and left on a 50-yard try.

Texas A&M (8-4, 4-4) scored one touchdown - an 8-yard slant from quarterback Kyle Allen to receiver Ricky Seals-Jones - but it was enough for a 7-6 halftime lead.

With 99 yards rushing and 23 yards receiving in the first half, Fournette had 121 of LSU's 156 yards in total offense. Fournette finished with 202 yards from scrimmage.

LSU quarterback Brandon Harris completed only 4 of 17 passes for 52 yards in the first half. He finished 7 of 21 for 83 yards with an interception.
