No. 1 Alabama 42, No. 13 Missouri 13: Derrick Henry rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns and T.J. Yeldon added two rushing scores as the Crimson Tide rolled to their 24th SEC title.

Blake Sims finished 23-of-27 for 262 yards and two TDs for Alabama (12-1, 7-1 SEC), which effectively locked up a spot in the inaugural College Football Playoff. Amari Cooper had an SEC Championship-record 12 receptions for 83 yards and DeAndrew White caught four passes for 101 yards and a touchdown as the Crimson Tide improved to 5-4 all-time in the SEC title game.

Maty Mauk was 16-of-34 for 272 yards and a TD for Missouri (10-3, 7-1), which had its six-game winning streak snapped and lost in the SEC Championship for the second consecutive season. Jimmie Hunt had six receptions for 169 yards and Bud Sasser had a touchdown grab, but the Tigers managed only 41 rushing yards on 23 carries.

The Crimson Tide marched 68 yards in 10 plays on their opening drive to take the lead on Yeldon's 1-yard run and made it 14-0 when Sims hit White for a 58-yard score with 11:48 left in the half. Missouri's star defensive end Shane Ray was ejected for targeting after a late hit on Sims on the play, but the Tigers' defense kept them in it until the fourth quarter.

After trailing 21-3 at halftime, Missouri got a 1-yard TD pass from Mauk to Sasser on fourth down and a 33-yard Andrew Baggett field goal to make it 21-13, but the Crimson Tide poured it on in the final period. Sims threw a 6-yard TD pass to Christion Jones to take the air out of Missouri's comeback attempt, and Henry tacked on a 26-yard TD romp and a 1-yard plunge to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Alabama improved to 36-0 under coach Nick Saban when it leads by at least 18 at halftime. … Sims (3,250) surpassed A.J. McCarron's program record for passing yards in a season. … Cooper set the SEC's single-season receptions mark (115), breaking the record set by Vanderbilt's Jordan Matthews.
