Oklahoma State 84, Savannah State 0:
Jeremy Smith and Desmond Roland ran for three touchdowns apiece and the No. 19 Cowboys used a 35-point first quarter to steamroll the visiting Tigers and post their highest point total in 96 years.

Oklahoma State (1-0) got three first-quarter touchdowns from Smith and two rushing scores from Joseph Randle to blow out to a 35-0 lead and kick-start the lopsided beating of overmatched Savannah State.

Cowboys freshman Wes Lunt dazzled in limited first-half action, completing all 11 of his pass attempts for 129 yards in his first shot at succeeding Brandon Weeden, who is now starting for the Cleveland Browns.

Oklahoma State piled up 682 yards of offense and led 49-0 at the half while finishing with a school-record nine rushing TDs. The Cowboys eclipsed the previous school record of seven touchdowns on the ground with 3 1/2 minutes gone in the third quarter when Roland rambled in from 42 yards out for a staggering 63-0 advantage.

Putting up points at will, Oklahoma State's first five scoring drives took up a total of only 5 minutes, 1 second - and four of the five drives were more than 50 yards. The longest of the Cowboys' seven first-half touchdown drives consumed a mere 90 seconds.

Randle scored twice in the first 4 1/2 minutes and finished with 107 yards on six carries. Roland added 104 yards on nine carries as Oklahoma State amassed 395 yards on the ground.
