Vanderbilt 49, Massachusetts 7: Jordan Rodgers threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as host Vanderbilt whipped winless Massachusetts.

The Commodores (4-4) won for the third time in four games as they try to reach a second straight bowl game for the first time in school history. Wesley Tate and Brian Kimbrow added rushing scores for Vanderbilt, which led 21-0 at the break. Rodgers finished 17-of-21 for 217 yards with no interceptions.

Wideout Jordan Matthews, who entered the game as the SEC’s co-leader with 46 catches, caught 10 passes for 112 yards.

UMass (0-8) broke the shutout with 6:05 left when A.J. Doyle hit Deion Walker for a 10-yard touchdown. The Minutemen committed three turnovers and mustered only 264 total yards.
