No. 5 Notre Dame 30, No. 7 Oklahoma 13: Freshman quarterback Everett Golson scored the go-ahead touchdown with 5:05 left and the Fighting Irish remained unbeaten by shutting down the host Sooners.

Linebacker Manti Te'o highlighted a stellar performance by Notre Dame's defense with a diving interception with 4:27 remaining as the Fighting Irish started 8-0 for the first time since 2002 and held their seventh opponent to 14 points or fewer.

Cierre Wood scored on a 62-yard run in the first quarter and Kyle Brindza kicked three field goals as Notre Dame improved to 9-1 all-time against the Sooners (5-2), who suffered their second home loss of the season - the first time that's occurred since Bob Stoops took over the program in 1999.

Golson, who missed last week's win over Brigham Young with a concussion, was 13-for-25 for 177 yards, including a 50-yard pass to Chris Brown that set up his 1-yard touchdown plunge with 5:05 to play after Oklahoma had tied it at 13-13 on Blake Bell's 1-yard run 4:05 earlier.

Landry Jones finished 35-of-51 for 356 yards and an interception and Jalen Saunders had 15 catches for 181 yards for the Sooners, who were held to a staggering 15 yards rushing on 24 attempts.

The Fighting Irish put the game away when Brindza booted a 46-yard field goal with 3:22 left and Theo Riddick ran 15 yards for a touchdown with 1:36 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Te'o had 11 tackles and a sack by halftime - his 24th career game with double-digit tackles - and became the third player in school history to surpass 400 career tackles, joining Bob Crable and Bob Golic. ... Saunders, a Fresno State transfer who was ruled eligible earlier this month, became the first Oklahoma player to make eight catches in one quarter. ... Wood's run was the longest of his career and the longest by an Irish player this season. ... Jones moved into sixth place in NCAA history with 14,388 passing yards.
