North Carolina State 20, Maryland 18
: Mike Glennon led a late game-winning drive for a second consecutive game and Niklas Sade hit the game-winning field goal with 32 seconds remaining as the visiting Wolfpack survived to beat the Terrapins.

Glennon passed for 307 yards and two touchdowns and Bryan Underwood extended his school-record scoring streak to seven games for North Carolina State (5-2, 2-1 ACC), which staged a similar last-minute comeback two weeks ago to upset then-No. 4 Florida State.

Maryland (4-3, 2-1) took an 18-17 lead as backup quarterback Devin Burns ignited the Terrapins offense in the second half, but it proved to be no match for Glennon’s late-game magic. Glennon needed just 1:54 to drive the Wolfpack from their own 20 to set up Sade for a 43-yard field goal.

On the subsequent drive, Maryland turned to third-string quarterback Caleb Rowe – who was supposed to be redshirted this season – to get the Terrapins into field-goal position, but his efforts were thwarted when Brad Craddock hooked his 33-yard field-goal attempt off the left upright.

Wes Brown rushed for 121 yards – the first player to surpass the century mark for Maryland this season – and a touchdown for the Terrapins, who failed in their attempt to go 3-0 in ACC play for the first time since 1985.

GAME NOTEBOOK: North Carolina State CB David Amerson, who led the country last season with 13 interceptions, recorded his 17th career interception to move into sole possession of ninth place in ACC history. … Maryland QB Perry Hills was carted off the field following Amerson’s interception with what appeared to be a serious left knee injury. He did not return and was replaced by Burns, who played receiver in 2011. … The Terrapins’ revolving door at quarterback continued as Burns and Rowe saw action. Over the last year, Danny O’Brien transferred to Wisconsin, C.J. Wilson tore his ACL in August and Hills left this contest due to his injury.
