No. 16 TCU 27, Virginia 7: Casey Pachall threw for 305 yards and three scores as the host Horned Frogs extended the nation's longest winning streak to 11 games.

Brandon Carter provided two dazzling catches among his five grabs for 128 receiving yards and a score, and Kenny Cain collected two interceptions and a fumble recovery for TCU (3-0). Backup quarterback Phillip Sims' fourth-quarter touchdown pass to E.J. Scott provided the lone offense for the Cavaliers (2-2), and was the first touchdown of the season allowed by TCU .

Carter put TCU on the board in style with the first of his two huge one-handed catches in the first half. The sophomore reeled in a third-and-10 pass from Pachall over the middle and raced 68 yards for a score with 8:17 left in the opening quarter.

The Horned Frogs made it 14-0 when Josh Boyce set the TCU touchdown receptions record with his 18th career score. Pachall zipped a 6-yard slant to him with 9:43 to go in the second quarter as TCU capitalized following Cain's fumble recovery at the Cavaliers' 42.

Carter took his second one-handed snare of the first half down to the Virginia 3-yard line, but Pachall's first interception of the season spoiled the scoring opportunity and TCU led 14-0 at halftime. Jaden Oberkrom nailed field goals of 46 and 47 yards in the third quarter for TCU, which was unaffected by the loss of leading rusher Waymon James on Wednesday to a season-ending knee injury.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
With three shutout quarters, the TCU defense extended its streak without yielding a touchdown to 12 straight dating back to last season's Poinsettia Bowl win over Louisiana Tech. … Virginia WR Darius Jennings had a third-down deep ball that would have been a sure touchdown bounce off his helmet midway through the first quarter. … Cavaliers' starting QB Michael Rocco was 13-for-28 for 126 yards and two interceptions. Kevin Parks rushed 12 times for 84 yards.
