Miami 38, Bethune-Cookman 10: Freshman Duke Johnson accounted for four touchdowns as Miami won its home opener for the sixth straight year.

Johnson rushed 14 times for 94 yards and two touchdowns, caught three passes for 57 yards and a score and returned a kickoff for a 95-yard touchdown. Johnson, who entered the game averaging an ACC-leading 198.5 all-purpose yards, finished with 246 for the Hurricanes (2-1, 1-0 ACC).

Bethune-Cookman's Isidore Jackson scored the first touchdown on 1-yard run to give the Wildcats (2-1) a 7-0 lead, but Johnson returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown. The return sparked a run of 24 straight Miami points that that put the game away.

Miami quarterback Stephen Morris completed 20 of 35 passes for 211 yards, including the 50-yarder to Johnson for a score.

Bethune-Cookman got 72 yards rushing from Rodney Scott and 66 from Jackson.
