Western Kentucky 32, Kentucky 31 (OT): Antonio Andrews scored his third rushing touchdown of the game in overtime and added the game-winning two-point conversion pass as the Hilltoppers earned the program’s first victory over host Kentucky.

After a Wildcat touchdown started the overtime scoring, Andrews plunged into the end zone for the third time and then converted the second half of a double pass for the winning two-point conversion. Quarterback Kawaun Jakes was on the receiving end of the toss from Andrews, who racked up 125 rushing yards.

The Hilltoppers (2-1) scored the game’s first 17 points, but the Wildcats (1-2) clawed back with 10 points before halftime and a 77-yard touchdown drive in the final two minutes of regulation to force overtime.

Jakes finished 16-for-22 for 120 passing yards with one touchdown and one interception while Kentucky quarterback Maxwell Smith was intercepted four times, including three by Western Kentucky safety Jonathan Dowling. Smith finished 37-for-60 with 332 yards and two scores.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Western Kentucky was 0-20 vs. BCS teams since 2001 and 0-14 vs. the Southeastern Conference entering the game. … The Hilltoppers’ win means a team from the Sun Belt Conference has defeated and SEC opponent in back-to-back weeks after Louisiana-Monroe defeated Arkansas last week. … Western Kentucky dominated time of possession, 36:07-23:53.
