Texas Tech 58, Texas State 10: Seth Doege tied a career high with five touchdown passes as the visiting Red Raiders racked up 591 yards of offense.

Doege completed 25 of 32 passes for 319 yards, hitting 10 different receivers for the second straight week. Javon Bell had five catches for 81 yards and a touchdown and Darrin Moore had five receptions for 73 yards and two early scores for the Red Raiders (2-0).

Tyler Arndt went 12-of-22 for 130 yards, a touchdown and an interception for Texas State (1-1) after replacing starter Shaun Rutherford, who started the game 0 of 7 passing and finished 1-for-9. Arndt had a 25-yard touchdown pass to Terrence Franks.

Texas Tech’s Cody Davis returned an interception 88 yards for the game’s first points and the Red Raiders scored on their next nine possessions.

Red Raiders freshman Jakeem Grant added season highs in catches (five) and yards (78).

GAME NOTEBOOK: Doege moved up to ninth in career passing yards (4,949) and eighth in career TD passes (36). … The attendance of 33,006 was an all-time record at newly renovated Bobcat Stadium, which nearly doubled its seating capacity for Texas State’s move into the FBS.
