Michael Rocco passed for over 300 yards for the first time in his collegiate career and added a pair of touchdowns as Virginia became bowl eligible by rolling over host Maryland, 31-13, on Saturday.

Perry Jones rushed for over 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns and Kris Burd caught nine passes for more than 100 yards for the Cavaliers (6-3, 3-2 ACC), who still have a shot at the ACC Championship Game.

Currently third in the Coastal Division, Virginia owns the tiebreaker over second-place Georgia Tech and hosts first-place Virginia Tech in the regular-season finale on Nov. 26.

Rocco gave the Cavaliers the lead for good with 1:34 left in the first half when he hooked up with Kevin Parks on a 35-yard score to make it 14-13.

Jones would rush for a touchdown and Rocco threw for another in the third as the defense took over, forcing two turnovers and getting a key fourth-down stop in Virginia territory early in the final quarter.

Jones, who scored on a 47-yard run on the Cavaliers’ first play from scrimmage to start the game, had his first career multi-touchdown game.

The Terrapins (2-7, 1-5) have lost five in a row.
