Kirk Cousins threw two touchdown passes and Michigan State clinched a share of the Big Ten title for the first time since 1990 with a 28-22 win over Penn State on Saturday.

Michigan State, ranked 10th in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll and in the BCS standings, and Ohio State, which defeated Michigan on Saturday, are 11-1 and 7-1 in the Big Ten. Wisconsin, which was also tied for first going into the day, faces Northwestern Saturday afternoon.

Michigan State also ended its 46-year drought at Beaver Stadium, winning there for the first time since 1965.

Penn State (7-5, 4-4 Big Ten) was led by two Matthew McGloin touchdown passes and a scoring run by Evan Royster.

Michigan State scored on its first drive, which ended on Edwin Baker's 7-yard touchdown run. Collin Wagner kicked a 34-yard field goal for Penn State.

Cousins threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to B.J. Cunningham in the second quarter. He also hit Cunningham with a 24-yard scoring pass in the third quarter.

Cousins completed 17 of 22 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Baker gained 118 yards on 28 carries and one score.
