The Texas A&M defense survived a first half assault from the Baylor Bears then pitched a second half shutout to win 42-30 Saturday night in Waco.

The Aggies (7-3, 4-2 Big 12) fell behind 30-14 in the first half, but roared back to score 28 unanswered points to win their fourth straight game and thrust themselves into the Big 12 South title chase. The game shifted after the Aggies blocked a field goal attempt by the Bears’ (7-4, 4-3) Aaron Jones. The ball was picked up by A&M’s Terrence Frederick, who was tackled out of bounds at the 1-yard line as time expired in the first half.

The A&M defense seized the momentum in the second half and strangled the Baylor offense. Aggie running back Cyrus Gray Rushed for 132 yards and four touchdowns. Aggie quarterback Ryan Tannehill passed for 281 yards and a touchdown.
