Eddie Wide scored three touchdowns, Jordan Wynn tossed a pair of scores and No. 10 Utah rolled to a 68-27 victory over Iowa State on Saturday.
Shaky Smithson had a pair of touchdown catches for Utah (5-0), which broke the game open with 34 unanswered points in the second quarter and improved to 6-0 after a bye week under Kyle Wittingham.
The Utes, who racked up 593 total yards, have won 12 straight against non-conference opponents.
The Cyclones (3-3), who defeated Texas Tech 52-38 last week, were 0-for-11 on third down.
The Utes entered having scored 150 points in their last three games. They have become even more potent with the return of Wynn, who was impressive in a second straight start since missing two games with a sprained thumb.
Wynn was 16 of 22 for 242 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in the first half as the Utes took a 41-14 lead. He finished 23 of 31 for 325 yards.
Austen Arnaud’s 20-yard touchdown pass to Jake Williams gave the Cyclones a 14-10 lead with 3:28 left in the first half, but it was all Utes from there.
Arnaud finished 13 of 31 for 178 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
