The Buffaloes' defense recorded a safety in between a pair of touchdown runs by Rodney Stewart, and Colorado led 17-10 lead with 7:12 left in the third quarter.

Colorado put the game away in the fourth on a pair of touchdown passes by Tyler Hansen.

Hansen completed 19-of-26 throws for 200 yards, a big chunk coming on a 73-yard scoring strike to Toney Clemons that upped Colorado's lead to 24-13. Hansen capped the scoring with a 23-yard touchdown pass to Scotty McKnight with 3:35 to play.

For Hawaii (1-2), Bryant Moniz was 26-of-41 for 340 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
