: Jarred DuBois scored 21 points to help the visiting Utes top the Bobcats.

Jason Washburn scored 18 points off the bench and Jordan Loveridge added 17 and eight rebounds for Utah (5-2), which used a 14-2 run down the stretch to survive a tight affair. The Utes shot 53.1 percent (26-for-49) from the floor while limiting Texas State to 36.9 percent (24-for-65).

Joel Wright led the Bobcats (3-4) with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Matt Staff contributed 16 points and 10 boards.

The Utes led by as many as 10 points in the first half, but late 3-pointers by Vonn Jones and and Deonte' Jones helped the hosts pull within 33-30 at the break. Vonn Jones' 3-pointer 61 seconds into the second half created a 35-35 tie, the first of seven deadlocks in the half.

Loveridge broke the last tie with the second of two free throws to make it 56-55 with 7:07 left. He added two more free throws moments later and DuBois had consecutive hoops to give Utah a 62-55 advantage with 5:10 remaining. Texas State never got closer than five points thereafter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Utah has won the only two meetings between the teams. ... Staff has made all 16 of his free throws this season.. ... Washburn was seven of eight from the floor and is shooting 72.7 percent (24-for-33) in 2012-13.
