Ahmed Hill scored 20 points to lead Virginia Tech to an 87-59 victory over visiting Charleston Southern on Tuesday night at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va.

Hill was one of five players who scored in double figures for Virginia Tech (10-1), which has won six in a row. Chris Clarke recorded a double-double, posting 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Zach LeDay had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Hokies. Seth Allen and Justin Robinson added 12 points apiece.

Christian Keeling had 24 points and 10 rebounds for Charleston Southern (4-6), which has lost five of six. Antwan Maxwell Jr. had 11 rebounds.

Virginia Tech and Charleston Southern traded the lead numerous times over the first 15 minutes. The Buccaneers went up 12-8 on a basket by Keeling. The Hokies mounted an 8-0 run to take a 16-12 lead on a dunk by LeDay.

Charleston Southern responded with its own 8-0 run to go up 20-16 on a 3-pointer by Jamal Thomas. The Bucs were clinging to a one-point lead when Hill made two free throws for Virginia Tech, sparking a 15-2 run that sent the Hokies into the break with a 39-27 advantage.

Virginia Tech went up by 14 early in the second half, extended the lead to 16 on two free throws by Allen and took a 53-36 lead on a dunk by Clarke. The Hokies took a 69-50 lead on a layup by Hill, went up by 20 on another basket by Hill, and led by as many as 30 late in the game.

Virginia Tech shot 41.7 percent from the field and made just 6 of 23 from 3-point range, but the Hokies held the Bucs to 33.3 percent shooting and 5-of-22 shooting from beyond the arc. The Hokies also forced 17 turnovers.
