SAN DIEGO -- Arizona State guard Shannon Evans II scored 16 point and made four 3-pointers in the second half as the Sun Devils pulled away for a 74-63 victory over San Diego State at the Viejas Arena on Saturday.

Guard Tra Holder had 17 points and forward Obinna Oleka had 15 and 12 rebounds for the Sun Devils (6-4), who used a 28-9 run in the first 12 minutes of the second half to take control.

Guard Torian Graham had 15 points and Arizona State made seven of its 10 3-pointers in the second half. The Sun Devils tied a school record with 18 3-pointers in a 99-73 victory over UNLV on Dec. 3.

Guard Trey Kell had 20 points and four rebounds and guard Max Hoetzel had 12 points on four 3-pointers for the Aztecs (4-4), who lost their third straight for the first since early in the 2013 season.

San Diego State was never closer than six after Graham's 3-pointer with 8:24 remaining made it 53-41.

Arizona State had 13 turnovers in the first half and trailed by as many as 10 as the Aztecs scored 14 of the first 18 points.

The Sun Devils committed only five turnovers in the second half and made all 12 free throws in the half to keep San Diego State at bay.

Arizona State had a 34-30 rebounding edge and limited the Aztecs to 36.8 percent field goal shooting. San Diego was 6-for-24 from 3-point range.

Kell had 10 points in the first half when the Aztecs took 32-25 lead.

The Sun Devils had lost two of the previous three games, falling to then-No. 1 Kentucky in the Bahamas and No. 18 Purdue in New York around the UNLV victory.
