Freshman Markelle Fultz turned in another stellar performance, scoring 35 points to lead Washington to a 104-88 victory over Cal State Fullerton on Thursday night at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.

David Crisp scored 17 points for Washington (1-1). Matisse Thybulle had 15 points, and Malik Dime added 14 points and eight rebounds.

Tre' Coggins scored 23 points for Cal State Fullerton (2-1). Jackson Rowe had 16 points. Lionheart Leslie had 15.

Washington led by 11 at the half, but Cal State Fullerton cut the deficit to four early in the second period. The Titans tied the game on a layup by Richard Peters, but the Huskies mounted a 10-0 run to take a 78-68 lead. Cal State Fullerton cut the deficit to seven with just over five minutes remaining, but the Titans couldn't get any closer.

Coggins and Fultz put on a show in the first half. Cal State Fullerton jumped out to a 9-5 lead after Coggins made two 3-pointers in the first two minutes. Washington took an 18-16 lead when Fultz drained his third 3-pointer. Two more 3-pointers by Coggins put the Titans up 22-20.

The Titans went up by six on a basket by Austen Awosika, but the Huskies reclaimed the lead on a 3-pointer by Fultz, took a 46-35 lead on a 3-pointer by Crisp and led 53-42 at the break.

The Huskies shot 61.1 percent from the field and made 9 of 20 from 3-point range. The Titans shot 50.9 percent and made 9 of 19 from beyond the arc.

Fultz had 30 points, seven rebounds and six assists in his college debut Sunday a loss to Yale, the most points ever scored by a freshman in his first game for the Huskies.
