Colorado's balanced scoring, led by 14 points from forward Xavier Johnson and guard Josh Fortune, fueled the Buffaloes' 89-70 win over visiting Louisiana-Monroe on Thursday night.

Three other double-figure scorers for Colorado included guards George King (12 points) and Derrick White (12) and forward Tory Miller (10). The Buffaloes are 3-0 for the first time since 2012-13 when they started 6-0.

Louisiana-Monroe (1-2) was led by guard Jordan Harris' 15 points while guard Nick Coppola had five assists and no turnovers. Coppola has started the season with 17 assists and no turnovers.

Colorado also out-rebounded Louisiana-Monroe 49-37 and also went to the free-throw line 20 times more than Warhawks. The Buffaloes, taking advantage of Louisiana-Monroe's 30 fouls, made 28 of 35 free throw attempts while the Warhawks were 8 of 15.

Colorado forward Wesley Gordon led the Buffaloes with nine rebounds and Miller added eight.

Colorado took an 8-0 lead with 16:11 left in the first half and was never threatened. The Buffaloes built their lead to 16-3 with 13:52 left before halftime. White had eight points and King six in that opening stretch.

The Buffaloes, who led by as many 31 points, outscored Louisiana-Monroe 36-28 in the paint.
