Senior forward Lew Evans knocked down two 3-pointers in the final minutes, helping Tennessee rally past Alabama 59-54 on Saturday at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn.

Evans finished with 13 points and freshman forward Grant Williams added 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Volunteers (16-15, 8-10 SEC) erased a 16-point deficit and snapped a three-game slide.

Guard Riley Norris scored all 13 of his points in the first half, helping the Crimson Tide get off to a hot start. Freshman guard Dazon Ingram hit a deep 3-pointer as the shot clock expired to help Alabama take a 36-22 lead into halftime. Norris hit all three of his 3-point attempts, and the Tide made seven of nine from beyond the arc in the first half as a team.

Tennessee battled back early in the second half and were down only four at 42-38 after a Williams dunk and a layup from Admiral Schofield with 14 minutes to play.

Schofield was big off the bench with 10 points for the Volunteers. He knocked down a 3-pointer that put the Vols up 54-53 with two minutes to play, and Evans followed with another 3-pointer that helped put away the Crimson Tide (17-13, 10-8).

Key added 12 points for the Crimson Tide, who ended the regular season by losing three of four to fall out of the NCAA Tournament bubble conversation. Both teams now head to the SEC tournament, likely needing to win it in order to get into the NCAA Tournament.
