Oakland guard Martez Walker scored 25 of his career-high 30 points in the second half to lead the host Golden Grizzlies to an 86-79 victory over Georgia on Friday night.

Guard J.J. Frazier led the Bulldogs (8-4) with 22 points and forward Derek Ogbeide had a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

After trailing 45-38 at halftime, Oakland (10-3) turned the tide with a strong run early in the second half behind Walker's scoring.

The Golden Grizzlies outscored Georgia 23-6 to take a 61-51 lead with 14:07 left in regulation. Walker had 14 points to fuel Oakland's run. The Bulldogs committed three turnovers and went 1 of 8 from the field in that stretch.

Georgia traveled to Oakland's O-Rena in Michigan because the Bulldogs have two players from that state - forwards Yante Maten of Bloomfield Hills Andover and Mike Edwards of Westland.

Maten fouled out with only six points and five rebounds with 6:19 remaining and the Bulldogs trailing 71-64.

Georgia cut the lead to 78-75 with 2:01 left in the game when Ogbeide made 1 of 2 free throw attempts. Walker answered with a 3-pointer with 1:40 remaining.

Oakland guard Sherron Dorsey-Walker, formerly of Iowa State, was the Golden Grizzlies' only other scorer in double figures with 12 points. His two free throws with 16 seconds left increased Oakland's lead to 85-77.
