LEXINGTON, Ky. -- No. 1 Kentucky improved to 6-0 Friday night with a 111-76 victory over Tennessee-Martin. The loss snapped a five-game win streak for the Skyhawks and marked the most points ever by a John Calipari-coached UK team.

"They got our best today," Calipari said. "I kind of like coaching against zone, and I want my team to feel like if someone plays the zone, that's a good thing. Let's go do this."

Kentucky used a 21-2 run over a span of 4:21 in the second half to push ahead 78-44 with 13:28 remaining. Freshman guard Malik Monk scored 13 of the 21 points, including nine straight during a dazzling display of steals and breakaway dunks.

"I don't think it's any secret how athletic Malik is and he's really improved his outside shot," UT-Martin coach Anthony Stewart said. "The way he's playing, it's pick your poison."

After UT-Martin finally scored, Kentucky ripped off another 15-1 run to hit the 96-point mark with 9:44 still to play. They eclipsed 100 points with 8:21 remaining, leading 101-54, before coasting home for the 35-point victory.

Monk finished with a career-best 26 points on a night when five players achieved a personal best statistic.

Freshman forward Bam Adebayo had a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds, both career highs. Freshman forward Wenyen Gabriel scored a career-best 15 points as did freshman forward Sacha Killeya-Jones with 12. Senior Dominique Hawkins dished out a career best nine assists.

Freshman guard De'Aaron Fox and senior guard Mychal Mulder rounded out the double figures scoring with 16 and 12, respectively.

As a team, Kentucky shot 56.1 percent from the field. The Wildcats had 24 assists versus 12 turnovers.

"I was really impressed with their attitudes and their unselfishness," Stewart said. "Generally, when you have teams that talented with those kind of accolades, a lot of times they'll have egos, attitudes or whatnot. I didn't see any of that."

"Part of it is they're all comfortable in their own skin," Calipari said. "They're not competing with another player on the team. We're competing against the other team. We have a bunch of unselfish players that are making the extra pass, and it's great to see."

UT-Martin was led by junior guard Matthew Butler with 15 points. Senior guard Jacolby Mobley had 14 and senior forward Kedar Edwards had 13.

The Skyhawks shot 40.9 percent from the field and committed 17 turnovers.

The Wildcats got the victory despite being without leading scorer Isaiah Briscoe. The sophomore suffered a lower back injury when he was fouled hard on a layup against Duquesne on Nov. 20. Calipari said Briscoe would undergo an MRI Friday night to determine why the nagging injury lingers.

Kentucky was trailing 16-15 with 11:14 left in the first half before blowing the game open with a 24-9 run for a 39-25 advantage with 5:10 left before intermission. Seven players got in on the fun led by Monk with five and Adebayo, Hawkins and Gabriel with four each.

Kentucky added another 8-0 spurt in less than a minute to push the lead beyond 20 points before settling for a 53-38 lead at halftime. It was the third straight game the Wildcats had eclipsed 50 points in the first half.

NOTES: Kentucky freshman guard Malik Monk made 16 3-pointers through the first five games. That's the most ever by a UK basketball player to start a season ... Kentucky freshman guard De'Aaron Fox entered Friday's game with 38 assists through the first five games, matching the number by Travis Ford in the 1993-94 season ... Kentucky has won more games than any program in college basketball history, 2,211 after Friday's win over UT-Martin.
