Wichita State scored the first 11 points and never looked back en route to an 82-47 victory against LSU on Wednesday afternoon in an opening-round game in the sixth "Battle 4 Atlantis" tournament at Imperial Arena in Paradise Island, Bahamas.

The Shockers (5-0) will face the winner of the game between Old Dominion and No. 10 Louisville in the championship semifinals at 2:30 p.m. EST on Thursday. The Tigers (3-1) face the OSU-Louisville loser in the consolation semifinals at 9:30 p.m. EST Thursday.

Wichita State, which entered the game with 10 players averaging between 5.5-11.5 points, enjoyed its typical balanced scoring. Landry Shamet led with 16 points and Markis McDuffie scored 13. No one else was in double figures, but 12 Shockers scored.

Antonio Blakeney had a team-high 12 points and Duop Reath scored 11 for LSU, which shot 28.6 percent (18 of 64), including 16.7 percent (4 of 24) on 3-pointers.

The Shockers led by 27 at halftime, but Reath scored four points as the Tigers started the second half with a 9-3 run to get within 49-28.

Wichita State quickly rebuilt the led to 30 as Austin Reaves and Rauno Nurger each made a 3-pointer.

The lead did not shrink under 24 points after that.

Shamet made two 3-pointers, one of which turned into a four-point play after he was fouled, as the Shockers raced to an 11-0 lead.

Craig Victor, making his season debut after being suspended for an unspecified team-rules violation, made a free throw for the Tigers' first point. Jalyn Patterson made a 3-pointer and assisted on Kieran Hayward's 3-pointer as LSU got within 13-9.

Conner Frankamp made two 3-pointers as Wichita State scored 17 consecutive points before Skylar Mays' two free throws ended the run, leaving the Shockers with a 30-11 lead.

McDuffie scored nine points during a 16-8 run that gave the Shockers a 46-19 halftime lead.

The final round of games in the eight-team tournament is Friday. The other first-round match-ups paired No. 20 Baylor and Virginia Commonwealth and No. 24 Michigan State and St. John's.
