Canning 14 3-pointers and sinking 58 percent of its field goal attempts, Michigan took fifth place Friday night in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament with a 78-72 decision over Texas in the Bahamas.

Guard Caris Levert led four Wolverines in double figures with a game-high 19 points, while guard Duncan Robinson, a transfer from Division III Williams, came off the bench to score 14. Forward Zak Irvin added 13 points, hitting a 3-pointer with 3:03 left for a 74-66 lead, and guard Derrick Walton contributed 13 points plus seven assists.

Guard Isaiah Taylor paced the Longhorns (2-3) with 18 points and eight assists, while center Cameron Ridley and reserve guard Eric Davis each netted 12. Guard Javan Felix scored 10 points.

Texas also shot well, converting 50 percent of its field goal attempts and draining 10-of-26 3-pointers. But the Longhorns beat themselves at the foul line, making just 8-of-19, including a brutal 3-of-10 showing in the first half.

Michigan (4-2) never trailed in the game, leading for all but 47 seconds. It established a 10-point lead before the first half was 10 minutes old and took a 44-32 lead to halftime when Levert sank a 3 with two seconds left.
