Junior guard Andrew White scored 16 points and helped Nebraska shake off some early doldrums, and the Huskers defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 67-44 on Tuesday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Senior forward Shavon Shields added 15 points as Nebraska (4-1) won its third home game in six days and now prepares for Friday's game against Cincinnati in Brooklyn, New York, as part of the Barclays Classic.

Nebraska endured a four-minute scoring drought and led just 15-13 when Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Thaddeus Handley hit a floater off the glass with 8:03 remaining in the first half.

That was the Lions' last field goal before halftime. They finished the half missing eight straight field goal attempts, while Nebraska finished on a 19-3 run.

White had seven points in that run, including a 3-pointer, and freshman point guard Glynn Watson had key plays, too.

Nebraska led 34-16 at halftime, the second straight game the Huskers held their opponent to 16 points in the first half.

Nebraska led by as many as 26 points in the second half.

Ghiavonni Robinson scored 13 points to lead Arkansas State (1-4). The Golden Lions are on a 17-game road trip to begin the season and don't play a home game until Jan. 16.
