Point guard Tra Holder had a career-high 22 points and forward Savon Goodman had 21 points and 15 rebounds in his first start of the season in the Sun Devils' 79-76 victory over the North Carolina State Wolfpack in the semifinals of the Legends Classic in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Monday.

Holder's 3-pointer with 1:06 remaining gave the Sun Devils (3-1) a 78-73 lead to propel them into the championship game against Marquette on Tuesday.

Guard Cat Barber had 22 points, and his layup with seven seconds remaining brought the Wolfpack (2-2) within two at 78-76.

Off guard Gerry Blakes made one of two free throws with four seconds remaining and Barber missed a 3-pointer in the final seconds as the Sun Devils won their third straight under new coach Bobby Hurley.

Goodman, who came off the bench in the first three games of the season because of a preseason foot injury, fell one rebound short of his career high.

Blakes had 13 points and six rebounds.

Barber had eight assists and six rebounds for the Wolfpack, who play No. 22 LSU in Tuesday's consolation game.

Forward Maverick Rowan had 14 points and five rebounds and guard Caleb Martin had 12 points.

Arizona State led by 11 twice early in the second half before the Wolfpack went on a 24-10 run over nine minutes by Barber's two free throws to take a 69-66 lead with 4:43 remaining.
