No. 4 Wisconsin 62, Purdue 55: Frank Kaminsky recorded a game-high 21 points as the Badgers edged away late to defeat the visiting Boilermakers in Big Ten play.

Josh Gasser contributed 15 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, as Wisconsin (15-1, 3-0 Big Ten) extended its winning streak to eight games. Traevon Jackson added 13 points and a pair of steals for the Badgers, who went 25-of-31 from the free-throw line.

Guard Jon Octeus led the way with a season-high 15 points to go along with eight rebounds for Purdue (10-6, 2-1), which shot 51 percent from the field.. A.J. Hammons and Isaac Haas each scored 11 while leading scorer Kendall Stephens, hampered by foul trouble, added seven points for the Boilermakers.

Purdue led by as much as five and shot 54.2 percent in the first half, but Kaminsky scored 10 as Wisconsin worked itself back in front 28-27 at intermission. Gasser drained a 3-pointer and Jackson converted a three-point play early in the second half as the Badgers pushed their lead to 34-28.

The Boilermakers battled back to tie twice before Kaminsky scored the first four points during an 9-2 burst that gave Wisconsin a 54-47 lead with just over three minutes left. Purdue trimmed the lead back to five, but could not get any closer as the Badgers made six straight free throws.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan won his 159th Big Ten game, breaking a tie with Walter Meanwell for the school record. … Badgers F Sam Dekker reached 1,000 points in his career when he slammed home a rebound with his right hand during the first half. The junior had six points to push his total to 1.003. … Purdue had a 26-21 edge in rebounding, but only drew seven foul shots and made three.
