USF 73, UAB 71 (OT): Chris Perry tallied a game-high 18 points and collected eight rebounds as the visiting Bulls got past the Blazers in overtime.

Anthony Collins totaled 16 points, including seven in overtime for USF (3-0), which won away from home for the first time under new coach Orlando Antigua. Troy Holston Jr. added 11 points off the bench and Nehemias Morillo registered nine points and seven boards for the Bulls, who shot 53.6 percent and outrebounded UAB 42-34.

C.J. Washington's 17 points and seven rebounds led the way for the Blazers (1-2), who shot just 35.8 percent from the field. Tyler Madison chipped in with 17 points and five rebounds and Robert Brown added 14 points, six rebounds and three assists for UAB, which failed to capitalize on 24 USF turnovers.

Perry's jumper put USF up 59-55 with just under two minutes remaining in regulation after neither team could push its lead beyond a single possession for the majority of the stanza. Hakeem Baxter's pair of free throws evened the score for UAB at 61-61 before Collins couldn't get a layup to go at the buzzer, forcing overtime.

In the extra frame, Collins sank a pair of free throws and a layup on consecutive possessions to give the Bulls a 70-68 edge with less than a minute to play before Brown tied the game from the foul line with 51 ticks remaining. After Corey Allen Jr.'s layup pushed USF ahead for good, UAB's Chris Cokley drew a foul with 10 seconds to go, earning the chance to tie the game once more but could only split his free-throw tries and the Blazers came up short.
