Oregon State 59, USC 55: Gary Payton II had 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Beavers held off the Trojans to improve to 12-0 at home this season.

Jarmal Reid added 14 points off the bench for Oregon State (14-5, 5-2 Pac-12), which has its best record through 19 games since 1989-90. Olaf Schaftenaar shot 3-for-6 from 3-point range and finished with 11 points for the Beavers.

Katin Reinhardt shot 4-for-7 from 3-point distance and scored 17 points to lead USC (9-10, 1-6). Nikola Jovanovic added 13 points and Jordan McLaughlin contributed nine points and seven assists for the Trojans.

The Beavers held USC scoreless for 5:20 during the heart of the second half and scored 10 points in the process to move ahead 45-40 with 8:58 remaining. The Trojans twice got back within one but Payton sandwiched a pair of jumpers around a missed 3-pointer by USC guard Julian Jacobs to put the Beavers back up by five with 2:40 on the clock and Oregon State held on thanks to a steal by Payton with 16 seconds left.

USC scored the last nine points of the first half to cut the deficit to 29-27, and the first three points of the second to briefly move ahead, but the Beavers came back with a 9-0 run on Schaftenaar's three 3-pointers to go back on top 38-30. The game of runs continued as the Trojans came back with 11 unanswered points to move back ahead by three with 14:01 remaining in the game.
