Miami (Fla.) 90, No. 4 Duke 74: Angel Rodriguez went 4-of-6 beyond the arc and scored 24 points as the Hurricanes snapped the Blue Devils’ NCAA-best 41-game home winning streak.

Manu Lecomte poured in a career-high 23 points for Miami (12-4, 2-1 ACC), which shot 66.7 percent in the second half to hand Duke consecutive losses in league play for the first time since Feb. 11-15, 2009. Sheldon McClellan chipped in with 14 points while Tonye Jekiri added 10 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high four steals for the Hurricanes.

Freshman Jahlil Okafor posted 15 points and 15 rebounds for his third straight double-double for the Blue Devils (14-2, 2-2), who could not overcome 15 turnovers or 10-of-20 shooting from the foul line. Amile Jefferson contributed 14 points and 12 boards for his third double-double of the season while Quinn Cook paced Duke with 18 points.

Duke scored on its first two possessions of the second half but went without a field goal for more than four minutes as Lecomte scored five points during a 9-0 spurt to give Miami a 45-39 edge heading into the first media timeout. The Blue Devils responded with seven of the next nine points before Rodriguez and Lecomte bookended a 10-0 surge with 3-pointers that increased the Hurricanes’ margin to 11 with 11:45 to go.

Jefferson and Okafor scored the next six points for Duke as the Blue Devils clawed within seven, but Miami answered with triples from McClellan, Rodriguez and freshman Omar Sherman to stretch the lead to 15 with 7:15 left. Cook nailed two 3-pointers over the next two minutes to cut the deficit to 11 to give the Blue Devils one last push before Lecomte scored eight straight points to spark a 17-8 surge that left the Hurricanes ahead by 20 with just over a minute remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Duke has allowed its last two opponents to shoot 20-of-36 beyond the arc after holding its previous 14 foes to a combined 26.4 percent. … Miami improved to 3-2 against the Blue Devils under coach Jim Larranaga. The Hurricanes had dropped 15 of their first 17 meetings prior to his arrival. … Rodriguez, who entered Tuesday averaging 14.6 points, has scored at least 24 points in each of the Hurricanes’ three games against top 10 foes this season.
