No. 17 VCU 65, Rhode Island 60: Treveon Graham poured in 26 points as the Rams rallied to win an Atlantic 10 game on the road.

Graham made 10-of-17 from the floor, including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc, and collected eight rebounds for VCU (14-3, 4-0), which earned its ninth straight win. Mo Alie-Cox added 10 points, Melvin Johnson had nine on 3-of-12 shooting and Briante Weber finished with six points and two steals, including four three throws to seal the victory.

E.C. Matthews registered 22 points and seven rebounds to lead Rhode Island (11-4, 3-1), which led for the better part of the game. Hassan Martin notched 10 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks and Jarelle Reischel added 10 points for the Rams, who committed 18 turnovers and shot 59.1 percent at the line.

As VCU struggled from beyond the arc, Rhode Island got the ball to the basket on nearly every trip, resulting in a high shooting percentage and a 18-11 lead nine minutes into the first half. Rhode Island took its largest lead of the half at 33-24 on Reischel's layup with less than two minutes left and went to the locker room with a 35-28 advantage.

Graham overcame an injury scare to score eight points in less than three minutes, bringing VCU to within one point at 41-40, but Rhode Island countered with a 8-0 run to match its largest lead at 49-40 with nine minutes left. Graham's third triple tied it at 51 with 5 1/2 minutes left and his fourth gave VCU a 59-58 lead three minutes later, and the Rams never trailed again as Cox made a dunk and Weber converted his free throws.

GAME NOTEBOOK: After trailing for just 18 seconds over its last seven games, VCU played from behind for the final 15:43 of the first half. ... Rhode Island finished the first half with 26-14 edge in points in the paint and 26-16 in rebounds. ... Graham had his legs rolled up on during a scramble for a loose ball with 17:45 left in the second half, but missed less than two minutes of game time.
